"Gives a visual hug"
Has a sketchy look that's not too clean
Includes a touch of southern charm
Is not too elegant
Invites potential residents and their families
to come and visit the community

A clear focus was placed on an intuitive user interface due to the likelyhood of the end user not being very internet savvy. To make the site more easy to navigate JavaScript tool tips were added to links that tell viewers what to expect upon clicking each link. A sidebar of consistent buttons appears on each page that clearly shows various options as well.

With a large number of community events going on throughout the year, it was decided that Flickr's API should be utilized in order to make it simple for Woodland Ridge's staff to update the site's photo galleries by simply uploading the photos to Flickr. Because the community is located on a large campus, and other care facilities share this campus, the Google Maps API was used for the maps on the site's contact page. To help visitors locate the correct building, an overlay outlining Woodland Ridge's buildings was placed on the street map. A map showing the street level view was also included on the contact page that shows the entrance to the office.

Something that sets this website apart from other assisted living community websites is that it allows family members to connect to residents, as well as get information about residents. Family members are invited to send messages and media to residents using a form located on the site and the CaraSyst® system enables nurses to share up-to-date information about the health of residents.
